REF appoints Professor John Wilson to pilot panel
The University of St Andrews Business School is proud to announce that Professor John Wilson, Head of the Department of Finance, has been confirmed as a panellist for the REF People, Culture and Environment (PCE) Pilot.
The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in higher education institutions. REF 2029 introduces an expanded definition of research excellence, emphasising the environments, roles and people essential to vibrant research ecosystems. The PCE pilot aims to inform this evolution by trialling new assessment methods across selected participating institutions.
Professor Wilson will serve on the Business and Management Studies Unit of Assessment (UoA 17) panel, joining distinguished academics to evaluate pilot submissions and shape the PCE framework. His appointment builds on his extensive expertise and prior service as a REF 2021 panel member for the same UoA.
