Five colleagues from the University of St Andrews Business School won teaching awards at the 1413 Teaching Excellence Awards on Tuesday 21 April 2026, an annual celebration of exceptional teaching held in Parliament Hall.

Dr Eleonora Sfrappini, Lecturer in Finance in the Department of Finance, took the overall Golden Dandelion Prize for her postgraduate Sustainable Finance module. The prize, organised by the University’s Sustainability in the Curriculum Committee, recognises teaching that connects academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Dr Lori Leigh Davies, who holds a joint role as Associate Lecturer in the Department of Management and Lecturer in the International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute, received a commended Golden Dandelion Award.

Dr Vicky Ward, Reader in Management in the Department of Management, won for her fourth-year undergraduate module “Creating, Managing, and Using Knowledge in Organisations.”

The Department of Management claimed two further Inclusive Teaching Awards. Dr Neha Gopinath, Lecturer, won for her postgraduate module “Introduction to Entrepreneurship,” and Dr Xi Xi, Lecturer, won for “Strategic Management.”

Professor Luca Savorelli, Vice-Dean of Education at the University of St Andrews Business School, said:

“These awards reflect the depth of commitment to inclusive and sustainable teaching across the School. Our colleagues are not just teaching their subjects well; they are asking fundamental questions about whose knowledge counts, how we learn from one another, and what role business education plays in a changing world. We are enormously proud of every one of them.”

The 1413 Teaching Excellence Awards are a collaboration between the University of St Andrews and the University of St Andrews Students’ Association, recognising academic staff who make a significant contribution to excellence in teaching across curriculum design, student feedback and collegiality.
